All students and employees are welcome at health services. A registered nurse is on duty during the academic year. Medical emergencies should be directed to the public safety staff when the health center is closed.
Numerous health-care facilities are located close to Cabrini's campus, including Paoli Memorial Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital. Radnor Township ambulance serves the campus in emergency situations. All ambulance and hospital costs are the responsibility of the individual student.
Counseling and Psychological Services are available to students for short-term therapy, as well as crisis response and consultation for faculty, staff, and others who have concerns about students.
The College's emergency procedures for behavioral incidents are sometimes implemented to address campus security concerns. The vice president for student development is authorized to invoke the emergency procedures for behavioral incidents:
-
if a student's behavior is perceived by the College to pose an immediate risk or substantial threat to himself, herself, or others
-
if a student is perceived by the College to pose an imminent threat of disruption of or interference with the normal operation of the College
Under these procedures, the Dean of Academic Affairs is authorized to impose a leave of absence on a student and require a full psychiatric and/or physical evaluation.
Upon completion of the evaluation, a determination will be made of the student's eligibility to return to campus.
Upon return, the student's eligibility for the continuation of matriculated status and status as a resident student is evaluated periodically.
