Sigma Zeta
Beta Zeta, founded in November 1981, is the Cabrini College Chapter of Sigma Zeta, a national science and mathematics honor society. Candidates for induction to the honor society must meet the following requirements:
- Major in any of the Natural Sciences, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Completed at least 15 semester (or 23 quarter) hours in Natural Sciences, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Attain at least a 3.0 (A = 4.0) grade point average in Science and Mathematics
- Attain at least a 3.0 (A = 4.0) grade point average in all subjects including Science and Mathematics
Math Club
The Math Club is made up of majors and non-majors, and in the past has sponsored "Math Pizza Nights," and a screening of the film "A Beautiful Mind." Club members tutored at Kids First Now, a local community organization in Wayne where children can get help with homework, and participated in "Martin Luther King Reading is Fun Day" and "Kids Count Day."
In spring 2004, Cabrini College hosted a Math and Science Expo for high school students and the members of the Math Club designed posters, held a problem-solving session, and answered questions.
