Peer tutors are responsible for the tutoring and academic support of other students in given subject areas.

Qualifications
- Be a currently enrolled Cabrini student, undergraduate or graduate
- Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrate excellent comprehension of tutoring subject
A peer tutor must have received a B or better in the course to become a tutor or a B or better in two or more departmental classes to become a peer tutor.
- Possess a genuine desire to help others
- Work well in close contact with people of all ages
- Possess strong listening and communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with students on a regular basis to tutor specific subjects
- Be prepared and on time for all scheduled walk-in hours and appointments
- Demonstrate appropriate skills in the tutoring situation
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality of records and contacts
- Consult with program staff immediately when there is a problem
- Maintain an active personal email account that will be used for communication with tutoring center staff
- Attend an orientation workshop during the first week of classes
- Successfully complete the one-credit course EDU 190: Peer Tutoring Seminar
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Keep records of tutoring sessions
- Establish and maintain communication with the faculty of your discipline
- Act as lab monitor during assigned walk-in hours
