Act 45

Jordan Harris received a master of education from Cabrini in 2008. From March 2010 to November 2011, he served as executive director of the Philadelphia Youth Commission (PYC), advising Mayor Nutter, City Council members, and other key stakeholders on strategies to improve the lives of Philadelphia youth.

He also served on the Mayor’s Police Advisory Commission before leaving PYC to pursue a run for political office.

Harris was named one of Philadelphia Tribune Magazine’s “10 People Under 40 to Watch in 2011” and one of the 25 innovative young leaders in the country for 2011 by the American Swiss Foundation.

Act 45

Act 45: Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Professional Development Courses

Act 45 is a relatively new requirement for education administrators from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).

Like Act 48 for teachers, but now separate for administrators, Act 45 requires six credits of continuing education every five years in order to maintain certification.

Cabrini College offers PDE approved courses meeting the PIL Core and Corollary Standards in order to satisfy Act 45 requirements.
