The Master of Education (M.Ed.) and teacher certifications are stand-alone programs, but students with Pre‑kindergarten–Grade 4 Certification (formerly Elementary) or Secondary-Education Certification need only two and four more courses, respectively, to complete the M.Ed. degree.
Students have six years in which to complete the M.Ed. program before being required to reapply to the program.
Students are often interested in completing certification as soon as possible, and then plan on completing the master’s degree afterwards. If that is the student’s goal, advisors work with them to accomplish that result.
Teacher certification without completion of an M.Ed. is also available.
Admission Requirements
-
Completion of a graduate application and payment of the $50 non-refundable application fee.
-
