On Saturday, Nov. 9, more than 100 alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends gathered in the Mansion for the inaugural “Cabrini Uncorked,” a wine and food pairing event with a silent auction.
Co-sponsored by the Cabrini College Parent Council and the Alumni Board of Directors, Cabrini Uncorked featured a variety of wines from around the world, along with champagne and craft beers, each hand selected by Professor of History and Political Science James Hedtke, Ph.D.
At each station, a beverage was matched with a complementary food sample to create pairings like the Chateau de Montfort Vouvray with phyllo cups of camembert, apple and pecan; a Trimbach Alsatian Gewurztraminer matched with a caramelized onion tarte; and Gascon Argentinian Malbec with boneless short ribs topped with crispy onions.
The silent auction items were generously donated by alumni, parents and friends of the College, and featured highly sought-after pieces of Philadelphia sports memorabilia, an on-trend Kate Spade handbag, a variety of gift baskets, and an opportunity to enjoy a week in the Florida Keys.
All auction proceeds directly benefit the Cabrini Annual Fund, which supports the Cabrini student experience.
Cabrini Uncorked is co-sponsored by the Parent Council and Alumni Board.
Proceeds benefit students through the Cabrini Annual Fund.
