Jennifer Persia ’14
Birthday: July 9

Hi! My name is Jen. I am a junior Elementary and Special Education major here at Cabrini College.

I grew up just 15 minutes away in Havertown, Pennsylvania. I started my involvement with Campus Ministry by reading and altar serving at Masses as a freshman.

My sophomore year, I attended Adventure Retreat and Project Appalachia. It was in West Virginia that I decided I want to be a Peer Minister. I enjoyed this experience so much I wanted to provide opportunities for others to have life-changing experiences.

This year, I will be attending the Rostro de Cristo trip to Ecuador in May as well as leading Project Appalachia during spring break.

Outside of Campus Ministry I am involved in the Honors Program, LEADStrong program, CEC, Sigma Rho, Active Minds, and Alpha Lambda Delta. I have also been an Orientation Leader for the past two years.

I am a Peer Minister in order to help other students have a place where they can meet new people while growing in their faith.

Victoria Werring ’14
Birthday: October 3

Hola, amigos! My name is Victoria Werring, and I am a junior and a Biology major at Cabrini College. This will be my first year being a Peer Minister and I am so excited!

I have been involved with Campus Ministry since last year and it is a place that makes being at church and doing service fun.

It’s where I feel the most “at home” on campus. I have been on a couple of Campus Ministry experiences already, including Ecuador and Search. I went to Ecuador last Christmas break and I would describe it as being a life changing experience.

Even though I cannot speak Spanish, I tried my best to learn the language and loved every chance I had to talk to someone and to learn a little more about their culture. Search was another experience I will never forget. This year, I will be a Search leader, and I am excited to make the retreat amazing so that others can feel and experience what I did.

Over spring break, I will be going to New Orleans with Campus Ministry and I cannot wait to familiarize myself with another culture. My hope is to just get out there and help in the best way that I can.

Other than Campus Ministry I am also a Cabrini Athlete, running cross country. I am the President of the Cabrini College Step Team, member of LEADStrong, CRS Ambassador, and work at the Admissions Office as a Student Ambassador.

My involvement in Cabrini College goes beyond academics, and so far it has truly a rewarding experience.

Anie Jamgochian ’14
Birthday: June 6

Welcome! My name is Anie Jamgochian and I am a junior majoring in English, Religious Studies, and American Studies with a Social Justice minor.

I am 100% Armenian and I grew up in Long Island, NY with my wonderful family of 5 (6 if you count the dog!).

I am actively involved in Campus Ministry, Active Minds, Body Image Coalition, Theater, Community Service and Outreach, LEADStrong, and I am the founder and president of Animal Lover Activists. I am also the Master Learner for the Voices of Justice Living and Learning Community.

Some events I have been involved in that inspired me to become a Peer Minister include Adventure Retreat, Search Retreat and Project Appalachia and this year I will be one of the leaders for Project Appalachia and Search Retreat. Next summer, I will be attending the trip to Ecuador called Rostro de Cristo, which I am really looking forward to.

I am very excited to be a Peer Minister this year, because my faith has always been an important piece of who I am. Though I have many interests and goals in life, my faith has always been present in all that I do by being my support, guidance, and motivation.

I look forward to not only incorporating my faith in this leadership position, but also helping other students to incorporate their own faith in their interests, goals, and anything else!

Cathy Matta ’13
Birthday: October 15

My name is Cathy Matta, and I am a senior Mathematics major and English minor in the Honors Program. I hail from a small town in Connecticut (no, it doesn’t snow all year long up there!) and am the youngest of three.

Some of my interests include writing, dancing, cooking, and acting. At Cabrini, I’m involved in the Math Club, Student Ambassadors, Peer Tutoring, Honors Executive Board, Theatre, and a few Honors Societies.

Through Cabrini, I have had the opportunity to travel to Spain (check out my reflection on the experience!) and Duran, Ecuador.

My favorite commitment (of course!) at Cabrini is my involvement with Cabrini’s Campus Ministry Program. As a Peer Minister, I have had the wonderful opportunity to plan and facilitate events (such as our Peanut Butter and Jelly Night), worked closely on the campus liturgy (writing the introductions to weekly Mass and preparing for liturgy), and attended and planned many retreats and immersion experiences.

I’m always willing to answer questions about our program, and invite you to stop by and check us out (third floor of Founder’s Hall). Whether we’re making peace flags, working on flyers, or just shooting the breeze, we love visitors!

As a team, our hope is to provide helpful programming and fun activities that not only get students involved at Cabrini, but also hopefully help students grow in their faith and their understanding of the God that loves them.
